Lucie Bourgeois

Founding President of Umalia for the past 10 years, Lucie also brings 20 years of experience as a senior executive with large Canadian and global private sector organizations in strategic planning, change management, human resources management and corporate social responsibility (CSR). Over the years, she has developed unique, pragmatic and engaging tools and methodologies to anchor corporate social responsibility and sustainable development in business strategies.
Lucie holds a master's degree in management from Hautes Études Commerciales and a bachelor's degree in industrial relations from the Université de Montréal, in addition to being certified in change management and an affiliate partner of the Shared Value Initiative network. She is also currently completing her Board Director certification. She has collaborated on numerous projects in North and South America, as well as in Africa, including climate change adaptation and collaborative governance.
Over the years, she has served on numerous boards of directors in Canada and internationally. Notably, she currently sits on the Board of Directors of Decathlon Canada and is an advisory board member of Grand Heron International, Education for Sustainability (ED4S) and the Conference Board of Canada - Leadership Faculty Member of the Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Institute. Lucie was named one of the 100 Women Entrepreneurs Changing the World and received the 2020 Accelerators Awards from the Canadian chapter of the United Nations Global Compact on behalf of Umalia.
